Lyocell

Lyocell is a fiber made from sustainably sourced natural raw wood material. Also known commonly as Tencel, which is made from the wood pulp of eucalyptus trees.

The production process of Lyocell does not require pesticides or irrigation and doesn’t demand high-quality farming conditions, unlike cotton.

It is also considered to be environmentally friendly due to its closed-loop production system where 99% of the chemical solution is recaptured and reused with minimal waste and low emissions. Tencel was recently awarded the “European Award for the Environment” by the European Union.

While it has a similar texture to cotton, with a soft natural touch, it requires less land and less water than cotton production. The fibers can be blended with a wide range of materials to suit your desired function and feel.
